Introducing Joseph "DJ Tabasco Black" Henderson, Jr.—a multimedia mogul, DJ / music producer, and COO with a passion for all things music. DJ Tabasco Black has been carefully building his record label since the late 1990s, starting as initially ThugGod Records before changing to StreetMade Music, Inc. in 2003 with the suggestion of his artist and now CEO, Doeboy.
As the Chief Officer of Operations (COO), DJ Tabasco Black has a crucial role in the company's success. He passionately oversees all company departments, balancing both the business and creative side. He runs the company's website, StreetMadeMusic.com, personally ensuring that everything runs smoothly.
Born in Mount Vernon, NY, but also raised in the birthplace of Hip-Hop, the Bronx as well as New Rochelle, NY. DJ Tabasco Black's Jamaican family upbringing and early start in music from the age of 6 months have shaped his music career. His family relocated to Atlanta, GA when he was a teenager, and in high school, he started putting together sound systems and bedroom studios with his rap group, No Name Brand. This eventually led to collaborations with artists like T.I., Grand Hustle artists, Gangsta Boo (RIP), and DaReal Mac-E (RIP).
DJ Tabasco Black's view on music production is unique in that he believes no two tracks should sound identical. He uses samples, hardware and software DAW, synths, and live instruments to merge his Jamaican traditional DJ Producer background and create music that follows the Ancient Order of Hip-Hop.
DJ Tabasco Black's past experiences and upbringing have influenced his plans to add diversity to the label's styles, ranging from Boom Bap, R&B, 808, Bass, Reggae, Dancehall, Ska, Afrobeats, to Trap. With his passion, attention to detail, and experience in the industry, he is sure to continue making waves in the music industry with his rebranded record label, StreetMade Music, Inc. 🎧🎤🎶
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement strategies for promoting and marketing the label and its artists.
Scout new talent and negotiate contracts with artists, agents, and others.
Oversee the recording, production, and distribution of music albums and videos
Manage the label's finances, including budgeting and forecasting
Collaborate with other music industry professionals, such as music producers, sound engineers, and talent agents.
Manage and supervise staff, including marketing and promotions personnel, legal advisers, and financial analysts.
Represent the label and its artists in meetings, negotiations, and other professional settings
Stay current with industry trends and technologies.
